Understanding the person of the Holy spirit. We can focus so much on the power of the Holy Spirit that we don’t appreciate the person of the Holy Spirit.

The sermon centers on John 14:15-17 and John 16:7-13. Brother Artin highlights Jesus’ promise of “another Counselor,” the Spirit of Truth, who dwells within the believer forever. A critical distinction is made: while the world cannot recognize the Spirit, the believer knows Him because He lives in them. Brother Artin also references Genesis 1:2-3, noting that creation only occurred when the Spirit of God hovered over the waters and the Word was spoken, and Galatians 5:22, describing the fruits of the Spirit as the very “portrait” of His character.

Brother Artin challenges the congregation to move beyond seeking the power or gifts of the Holy Spirit and instead seek His personhood.

• Personal Intimacy: Stop treating the Holy Spirit as a distant force or a mere messenger. Recognize Him as the closest friend who desires your attention and presence.
• Repentance for Indifference: The congregation is asked to repent for ignoring the Spirit’s presence in daily life and for “taking Him to bad places” through disrespectful behavior.
• Acquiring the “Oil”: Like the wise virgins, believers must personally acquire the “oil” of intimacy, which cannot be borrowed or prayed for by others.
• Communion Preparation: Before taking communion, participants are urged to empty their hearts of “coolness” or distance and fully submerge themselves in the Spirit’s embrace.
