Testimonies and praying for Mothers

The service centered on two primary scriptural themes: the nature of God’s righteousness and the healing power of Jesus.

2 Corinthians 9:10
The preacher highlighted this verse to illustrate that God, who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, will also increase the “store of your righteousness” and enlarge the “harvest of your righteousness.” The core insight shared was that righteousness is not just a state of being but a fruit that grows when one surrenders their emotions and composure to God.

Luke 13:10-17 (The Woman Bent Over)
The second speaker shared the account of the woman crippled for eighteen years.

• The Condition: She was “bent over,” symbolizing the weight of burdens, sin, and difficult circumstances.
• The Restoration: Jesus had compassion and set her free so she could stand upright and look at His face rather than the ground.
• The Invitation: Reference was made to Isaiah 55, inviting the thirsty to come to the waters and “buy wine and milk without money and without cost.”

The leadership presented several challenges and calls to action for the congregation:

• Surrender of Self: Participants were urged to stop trying to control their feelings or maintain a “composed” facade. The preacher noted that God speaks most clearly when individuals fully surrender their emotions to Him.
• Seeking Righteousness: Following a week of study where nearly 50 verses on righteousness were identified, the congregation was encouraged to seek a deeper understanding of God’s righteousness alongside His kingdom.
• Mother’s Day Honor: In a special segment, mothers were called forward to be honored by their children with flowers. The congregation was reminded of Proverbs 1:8-9, noting that a mother’s instruction is a “graceful garland” for the neck and a “crown” for the head.
• Commitment to Growth: The service concluded with a collective commitment to not “let go” of God until a blessing is received, modeled after Jacob’s persistence.
