The sermon centers on 1 Peter 2:9: “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

Brother Edward identifies five specific “offices” or statuses granted to the believer:

• Chosen People: Believers are those who have accepted God’s free invitation. While God calls everyone, those who respond become the “chosen.”
• Royal Priesthood: Derived from the Latin pontifex (bridge builder), believers are called to be mediators who reconcile humanity with God.
• Kings: Restoring the dominion lost at the Fall, believers are granted authority in Christ to rule over their circumstances and spiritual opposition.
• Holy Nation: “Holy” signifies being set apart. Believers must accept this identity to overcome sin, rather than identifying as “wretched” or “guilt-ridden.”
• People Belonging to God: A “special” people held in the palm of God’s hand, likened to the “apple of His eye.”

Brother Edward challenges the congregation to move beyond feelings and emotions, which often lead to despondency, and instead stand on the truth of the Word.

Action Points:

• Reject Despondency: Do not host “unwanted guests” like hopelessness. Use spiritual authority to “expel” these feelings.
• Adopt a Simple Faith: Accept the five statuses (Chosen, Priest, King, Holy, Owned by God) with the simplicity of a child.
• Confess Identity: Replace self-deprecating language (“I am a wretched sinner”) with biblical identity (“I am a king in Christ”).
• Prepare for Communion: Bring any obstacles or distortions of this spiritual position under the blood of Jesus before approaching the table.

• Դավանել ինքնությունը. Փոխանակ ձեզ «խեղճ ու կրակ» կոչելու, դավանեք, որ դուք թագավոր եք Քրիստոսի մեջ:
• Պատրաստվել Հաղորդության. Հիսուսի արյան տակ բերեք այն ամենը, ինչը խանգարում է ձեզ տեսնել ձեր իրական դիրքը Աստծո մեջ:
