• James 3:3-5: The tongue is compared to a horse’s bit, a ship’s rudder, and a small spark. Though small, it controls the direction of one’s life and has the power to destroy or lead.
• Romans 10:9-10: Salvation requires both believing in the heart and confessing with the mouth that Jesus is Lord.
• Romans 1:16: Paul’s confession of not being ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God.
• Galatians 2:20 & 6:14: The doctrine of spiritual death; confessing that “I have been crucified with Christ” to overcome the old nature and worldly attachments.
• Philippians 1:21: The ultimate perspective on life and death: “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”
• Philippians 4:13: The declaration of divine strength: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
• 2 Corinthians 10:4-6: The authority to pull down strongholds and take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

Brother Edward challenges the congregation to move beyond “silent faith” and passive Christianity:

• Break the Silence: Silence is for hearing God, but confession is for victory. Congregants are encouraged to find private spaces to shout and praise God loudly to break emotional and spiritual “walls.”
• Control the Mind: Use verbal confession to stop “wandering thoughts.” Like birds flying over a head, you cannot stop thoughts from coming, but you can prevent them from “nesting” by speaking the Word.
• Identify Your Position: Brother Edward notes that many feel defeated because they forget their identity. He identifies 65 points of “Position in Christ” (e.g., child of God, heir, victor, hero, bride of Christ) that must be studied and declared.
• Practice Authority: Recognize the difference between power and authority. Like a small policeman stopping a large truck, the believer has the authority of God to stop the enemy’s influence.
• Action Point: Attend the Tuesday prayer meeting at 8:00 PM for extended prayer, praise, and collective confession.
