Sometimes it seems to take an intolerable amount of time for God to answer our prayers, Br Edward responds to this difficult question.

The sermon addresses the question of why prayers, even those aligned with God’s will and the Bible, are sometimes answered late. Brother Edward identifies four biblical reasons for these delays:

• God’s Specific Timing: Based on Psalm 32:6 and the life of Jesus, Brother Edward emphasises that God operates on a perfect schedule. Examples include Joseph (waited 13 years), David (anointed as a teen but faced years of wilderness), and Abraham (waited 25 years for the promise of Isaac).
• Character Transformation: God often works in us before doing something for us. Delays are used to teach patience, humility, and dedication, purifying the believer’s life.
• Testing of Faith: Faith is refined like gold in a fire (1 Peter 5:6). Brother Edward cites the Canaanite woman who persisted despite Jesus’ initial silence and harsh testing, eventually being commended for her “massive” faith.
• Spiritual Warfare: Drawing from Daniel 10, Brother Edward explains that delays can be caused by conflict in the “second heaven” between angelic and demonic forces. Daniel’s answer took three weeks because of a battle involving the “Prince of Persia” and the Archangel Michael.

Brother Edward challenges the congregation to move beyond seeking “temporary joy” or “spiritual chocolate” and instead pursue a transformed life.

Persevere in Prayer: Do not become despondent or doubt God’s love when answers are delayed. If the burden remains in your heart and aligns with Scripture, continue the “warfare.”
Remain in His Presence: Brother Edward shares a personal testimony from 49 years ago in Tehran, where he heard the audible command to “Remain in my presence.” The congregation is urged to seek God’s presence more than the answer itself.
Maintain Tenacity: Like the believers in Armenia or the fasting groups in South Korea, the congregation is called to pray with such power that they “pierce the second heaven.”

Այս քարոզը կը բացատրէ, թէ ինչու Աստուած երբեմն կ’ուշացնէ աղօթքներու պատասխանը։ Քարոզիչը կը նշէ չորս աստուածաշնչեան պատճառներ.
Աստուծոյ յատուկ ժամանակը. Ինչպէս Սաղմոս 32:6-ի մէջ, Աստուած ունի Իր կատարեալ ժամանակը (Յովսէփ, Դաւիթ, Աբրահամ)։
Բնաւորութեան փոփոխութիւն. Աստուած կ’ուզէ նախ մեր մէջ գործել, սորվեցնելով համբերութիւն եւ խոնարհութիւն։
