The sermon centers on 1 John 3:8: “The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.”

Brother Edward, explores the nature of the “Victorious Lord” through the following points:

• The Power of the Name: The name of Jesus was chosen in heaven before birth and carries the full authority of God. It is the name above all names, before which every knee must bow—including those under the earth (Satan and demons).
• The Example of Jesus: Jesus demonstrated absolute authority over evil. He did not beg or negotiate with demons; he commanded them.
• The Strongman Parable: Based on Gospel teachings, Jesus is the “stronger man” who enters the house of the “strongman” (Satan), binds him, and reclaims the stolen goods (joy, health, peace, and hope).
• The Four Weapons of Victory:
  • The Name of Jesus: Its inherent authority.
  • The Word of God: Used by Jesus during his 40-day temptation as a double-edged sword.
  • The Holy Spirit: The anointing that breaks bondages.
  • The Blood/The Cross: The ultimate completion of victory where the serpent’s head was crushed (Genesis 3:15).

Brother Edward challenges the congregation to move from theoretical knowledge to practical application of their spiritual authority:

• Accept Your Authority: Recognize that because Jesus lives within the believer, the believer is stronger than the one in the world.
• Reject “Gifts” from the Enemy: Do not accept depression, doubt, hopelessness, or worry. The preacher shared a personal testimony of overcoming deep depression after the loss of his first wife by choosing to command those feelings to leave.
• Go Against Feelings: Even when you do not feel like praising, “praise Him anyway.” Let the weak say, “I am strong.”
• Command the Enemy: Use the name of Jesus to command any spirit of oppression, sickness, or theft of peace to leave your life and family immediately.
