The sermon centers on two primary scriptural foundations to illustrate the “secret” of successful evangelism:

• John 20:21: “As the Father has sent me, I also send you.” Brother Edward emphasizes that Jesus’ motivation for coming to Earth was the same as the Father’s: sacrificial love (referencing John 3:16). Therefore, the believer’s motivation for reaching others must be rooted in love and “pregnancy” with a spiritual burden, rather than a sense of duty.
• Romans 8:26: The Holy Spirit helps in our weaknesses by interceding with “groanings which cannot be uttered.” Brother Edward describes this as a “heavenly burden” or “birth pains” that the Spirit places on a believer’s heart for the salvation of others.
• Ezekiel 22:30: God looks for a person to “stand in the gap” and build a wall of intercession for the land so it is not destroyed.
• Psalm 126:5: “Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy.” Brother Edward argues that spiritual fruit is the direct result of “sowing” through tearful intercession and fasting.

Brother Edward challenges the congregation to move beyond “performative” or “joy-only” worship and embrace the difficult work of intercession.

• Develop a Spiritual Burden: Participants are urged to ask the Holy Spirit to place a specific “burden” or “pain” in their hearts for the unsaved, particularly for the Armenian community in London.
• Intercede for Individuals: Rather than trying to “save the world” broadly, focus on one person at a time with intense prayer, as illustrated by the story of the 17-year-old girl whose focused prayer for one individual eventually led to 35 conversions.
• Practical Love and Service: Follow the example of “Anahit,” who won her atheist father-in-law to Christ through 13 years of patient service, respect, and love, eventually leading to his baptism at age 87.
• Action Point: Identify neighbors, colleagues, and relatives (Armenian, English, or otherwise) and commit to “standing in the gap” for them through fasting and prayer until their salvation is realized.
