• The Trial of Jesus (Matthew 27 / Mark 15): Brother Raffie highlights the choice between Jesus and Barabbas. He notes that while Jesus healed, fed, and blessed the people, they chose Barabbas—a criminal who brought suffering—due to the influence of religious leaders and the desire to please the crowd.
• The Healing at Bethesda (John 5): The focus is on the man paralyzed for 38 years. The preacher contrasts the “tradition” of waiting for the angel to stir the water once a year with the immediate healing offered by Jesus. The man had to choose to look away from the pool and toward Christ.
• The Two Criminals at Golgotha (Luke 23): The sermon examines the two thieves crucified with Jesus. One chose bitterness and questioning (“If you are the Christ, save us”), while the other chose repentance and recognition of Christ’s holiness (“Lord, remember me”).

Congregation response

Brother Raffie challenges the congregation to move beyond performative tradition and address internal “dormant dynamites” of bitterness and injury.

• Choose Christ over Tradition: Reject reliance on superficial rituals (e.g., salty cakes for luck or jumping over fires) and instead call directly upon Jesus for life changes.
• The Mandate of Forgiveness: The congregation is urged to forgive those who have caused them pain—including national grievances (referencing the Armenian Genocide) and personal family hurts. Forgiveness is presented as the “key to healing.”
• Active Repentance: Participants are encouraged to pray for internal healing of the heart, mind, and spirit, specifically renouncing bitterness that leads to physical and emotional illness.
