Brother Edward continues his series on the unity of the Church this week looking at the result of unity.

Message:

• John 17: Jesus’s high priestly prayer where He petitions the Father for the disciples to be “one” as the Trinity is one. The preacher emphasizes that this unity is the primary condition for the world to believe in Christ’s mission and for God’s name to be glorified.
• Acts 1:14 and 2:1: The account of the 120 believers gathered in the Upper Room. Their “one heart and one soul” created the environment necessary for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.
• Psalm 133: A description of the beauty of brethren dwelling in unity, which triggers the “heavenly oil” and God’s commanded blessing.
• Matthew 18:19: The promise that if two agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by the Father in heaven.
• Exodus 17 (Moses, Aaron, and Hur): The battle against the Amalekites illustrates that victory depends on mutual support; Moses could only keep his hands raised with the help of others.

Brother Edward challenges the congregation to move beyond individualistic faith and embrace corporate responsibility. Key action points include:

• Internal Reconciliation: Members must resolve internal frictions and “complaints” before expecting external growth or miracles.
• Commitment to the Local Body: Reject the “solitary Christian” mindset. The preacher warns that isolation leads to spiritual vulnerability and sin, as seen in those who claim they are “blessed enough at home” without the church.
• Active Participation in Leadership Transitions: The congregation is tasked with selecting four deacons for the Armenian community next Sunday, following the model in Acts 6.
• Corporate Prayer: The congregation is urged to bring their burdens to the group, believing that the “Amen” of the united body carries more power than individual petitions.
