Message:

The sermon centers on John 14:27: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you.” Brother Edward identifies five distinct qualities of this divine peace:

Christ’s Peace: It is a specific gift from Jesus, given even in the shadow of the cross and the agony of Gethsemane.
Heavenly Origin: It is a peace the world cannot provide through wealth, education, or pleasure.
Internal Authority: Based on Colossians 3:15, this peace rules within the heart rather than being dependent on external circumstances.
Transcendent Nature: Based on Philippians 4:7, it surpasses all human understanding and logic, remaining present even during persecution.
Guaranteed and Paid For: Based on Isaiah 53, the price for this peace was paid 2,000 years ago when Christ took our sins, pains, and mental anxieties (burdens) upon Himself.

Brother Edward challenges the congregation to stop carrying burdens that Christ has already paid for. The response requires two specific actions:

• Repentance: According to Acts 3:19, the congregation is called to turn away from sin, which acts as a barrier to experiencing God’s “times of refreshing.”
• Taking the Yoke: Based on Matthew 11:28-30, the congregation is invited to come to Jesus and exchange their heavy, worldly burdens for His “sweet yoke” and “light burden.” This signifies submitting to His care and authority to find rest for the soul.
