Christ’s Workmanship

Sam Yeghnazar shares a tribute to Don Rowley who was due to speak at this meeting but unfortunately was not feeling well enough to attend.

However Brother Don Rowley shared a powerful message on Christ’s workmanship in the morning service and Br. Sam summarises the main points that were made.

The sermon centers on Ephesians 2:10: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

Brother Sam emphasizes that believers are God’s “handiwork” or “masterpiece.” Key theological points derived from this verse include:

• Divine Ownership: Just as a craftsman recognizes his own work, God knows His workmanship and has placed His “seal” upon it.
• The Seal and the Sign: The Holy Spirit serves as the internal seal of ownership, while a holy life serves as the external sign to the world.
• Purposeful Design: Believers are not just saved from something, but for something: to perform good works and produce fruit.
• Progressive Sanctification: Christian life is described as a “walk”—a continuous progression from “glory to glory” rather than a static state.

Brother Sam challenges the congregation to evaluate their spiritual vitality through several self-reflective inquiries:

• Verification of the Seal: Do you recognize the presence and filling of the Holy Spirit in your life?
• Visibility of the Sign: Is your “holiness” and “saltiness” recognizable to those around you, or have you lost your distinctiveness?
• Commitment to Growth: Are you moving forward, or has your faith become stale? The congregation is urged to view the Christian life as an “adventure” of constant advancement.
• Call to Action: For those who have not yet started this spiritual journey, the invitation is to receive Christ as a personal savior. For believers, the call is to remain “pruned” and “fresh” to bear more fruit.
