Effectiveness in Prayer:

Brother Edward starts by recapping on some of the strategies for avoiding despondency when you are going through difficult times:

  1. Comprehend what the Lords plan are for you going through difficult circumstances.
  2. God has given you promises when you go through difficult circumstances
  3. Remember the power and authority you have to come against the enemy.

What is root of my unsatisfactory prayer ?

Look to the LORD and his strength;
seek his face always.” Psalm 105:4

Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more.
I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods
or take up their names on my lips.” Psalm 16:4

Focus on God in your prayer time not your problems

It’s easy to focus on our problems and not spend time enjoying God:

  • No money or job.
  • Health and mental problems
  • Grief
  • Unfaithfulness
  • Prodigal son

As well as family, personal and church challenges.

Occupy our thoughts with Gods qualities and characteristics

Martha only needs Jesus not to be worried about anything

  • First place belongs to God
  • Be holy seek kingdom
  • Holy be your. Name
  • Your kingdom come
  • Your will be done

Be positive focus on good things

If your brain is empty then there is place for the devil to tempt you.

  • Focus on God’s love
  • Enjoy his grace and mercies
  • Might and the power of the Lord

When you focus on God then problems actually look quite small. Even in difficult circumstances we can be overcomers. Focus on correct and positive and fruitful things. Even in a lock down it is a good time to focus on spiritual books, acquire new knowledge and improve yourself.

How can you serve other people and encourage them.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Phil 4:8
